Tracy Valgardsson Enns received her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Designation in 2001, but that was not the start of her financial services career. She started out as a teller with the local Credit Union, and soon realized she loved working in the financial services sector. Tracy recognized early on that she did not want to work in the lending department so she committed to working on the deposit side, a decision that has served her well throughout her career.
Tracy lived in Delta, BC for 9 years and had the opportunity to work for the Delta Credit Union, in the role of teller, supervisor and office manager. In 1995 Tracy returned to her hometown of Moose Jaw, SK where she chose to explore life as an independent advisor. Working in financial services in the 1990’s, Tracy entered into an industry that was mainly dominated by men. Tracy remembers attending meetings in Regina and being one of a handful of women in the room. This did not stop her from pursuing her dream.
From 1996 to 1998 Tracy worked with another advisor before venturing out on her own. Achieving the CFP designation opened the door to more complex cases which Tracy loves. As you will hear her say, “I love puzzles.” To Tracy, connecting the pieces of a retirement or estate plan together and presenting solutions to the client is extremely rewarding. Tracy’s grandfather invested in real estate and land, so she witnessed the benefits of owning these types of assets. When she was introduced to the exempt market in 2012, Tracy was thrilled to have the opportunity to access real estate and land investments for her clientele. In 2013, Tracy entered into the exempt market, which allowed her clients to add private investments to their portfolios.
Tracy has been a lifelong learner and takes her education requirements very seriously. She in turn knows the importance of not rushing investors to make investment decisions. She takes the time to educate clients on the various products to ensure the investment is suitable for them.
Tracy and her husband Gary have 5 children and 7 grandchildren. Tracy loves to watch her grandchildren play sports, whether it is hockey, baseball, or football. When her daughters were growing up, they swam competitively, and it was normal for her to lose her voice from cheering them on. They would tell her that they could not hear in the water but that did not stop her from being their biggest cheerleader!
Tracy loves to travel, whether it is by air, land, or sea. She has had the opportunity to travel to several European countries, cruised Alaska, the Caribbean and most recently Central America and the Panama Canal. Tracy has many more places on her travel wish list, but the best vacations are those that she gets to spend with her family and grandchildren. Whether that means camping at the lake or in the backyard, being able to spend time with family brings Tracy such joy.
