Diane graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Montreal in 1987. In 1989, she founded a veterinary hospital, which she owned until 2017. Her main duties were in two areas: the practice of veterinary medicine and the management of the hospital.
The first aspect required precision, integrity and compliance. She had to obey by the rules of practice imposed by the license issued by the Ordre des médecins vétérinaire du Québec. The clarity of the explanations to ensure a good understanding as well as customer satisfaction was essential in her daily practice. Diane’s priority has always been to meet the needs of her clients and patients.
The management of the hospital has allowed her to develop her business, marketing, public relations and finance skills. The hospital has grown tremendously in 28 years, having 15 employees when it sold in 2017.
From 2001 to 2014, Diane also acted for the Ordre des médecins vétérinaires du Québec as a professional inspector for members. As part of this function, she met with veterinarians of the province at their facilities to assess compliance. Diane verified that the equipment used was adequate and in good order, and that College regulations and standards of practice were respected. She also made sure that record keeping and proficiency were satisfactory. This function required great rigor, while having a friendly approach to members. In addition, Diane participated in Inspection committee meetings as well as developing and updating standards of practice.
While being invested in her profession, Diane has always had a strong interest in finance, especially for real estate investing. Diane also participated as an investor in private mortgage investments. These experiences allow her to become familiar with the industry.
After 30 years of passion for veterinary medicine, Diane decided to withdraw from the practice. Always eager to work with the public, she headed for a different but equally fascinating field, the exempt market. Diane qualities developed in her early careers will be of great use in helping investment clients achieve their goal.
On a more personal note, Diane is the proud mother of two adult sons. Her free time is divided between adventure travel, hiking, scuba diving, yoga and her newest project, writing a novel. (20200807)
